February 22 - Obituaries "The Dead Said" - Glenda Lloyd
Obituaries can be a goldmine of information.  They can clarifying family relationships, giving clues to migration, pin pointing place of burial, and lead the researcher to living relatives.


February 29 - Basic Genealogy – Kim Parker
This class covers the basics:

- How to fill in a family group sheet
- How to read a pedigree chart
- The correct notation for dates and names
In addition we will discuss:
- Where to find resources and your family’s documents
- How to search online
- Places to look (online and in the “real world”)
- How to write away for information
and so much more.

March 7 – INDEXING: Help Index the 1940 U.S. Federal Census – Linda Lucky
On April 2, 2012, NARA will provide access to the images of the 1940 United States Federal Census for the first time. Unlike previous census years, images of the 1940 U.S. Federal Census will be made available as free digital images.  Upon its release, FamilySearch and its partners will coordinate efforts to provide quick access to these digital images and immediately start indexing these records to make them searchable online for free and open access.
Learn how simple and easy INDEXING can be.  This is a wonderful opportunity to 'give back'.

Were your ancestors involved in a lawsuit? Their records might be waiting for you at the law library. Most law libraries are open to the public; learn how to make the most of a law library. Discover a new research repository and new records to help solve some of your unsolved research questions.

March 28 – Planning a Genealogy Trip – Glenda Lloyd
Preplanning a research trip may determine how much success you have.  Suggestion for before you go, while you’re there, and after you get home.
