Use the Vital Records Viewer icon in the "Novell-Delivered Applications" window.
This CD contains information from birth, christening, and marriage records from selected parishes in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Some names found in the Vital Records Index may also be found on the International Genealogical Index (IGI) produced by the Church.
This index includes:
- Records that cover an approximate time period from 1570 to 1905.
- Approximately 79,000 christening records and 12,000 marriage records for Belgium and Luxembourg.
- Approximately 253,000 christening records and 67,000 marriage records for the Netherlands.
- The names of the individual; the parents' names and when available; the date and place where the birth, christening, or marriage was registered; and the name of the individual's spouse.
- Reference information that allows you to locate the original record on a microfilm.
This is not a complete index. Your ancestor may not appear here even though you know he or she lived in a time and place covered by the index. Because of certain restrictions, only selected parishes were extracted.
The geographical boundaries for Luxembourg were changed during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Part of what used to be Luxembourg is now Luxembourg Province in Belgium. You may wish to search the province of Luxembourg when searching for relatives living in the country of Luxembourg.
